The Portland Veterinary Medical Association acknowledges that we are located on the traditional lands of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia and Willamette Rivers. We recognize these communities as the original stewards of this land and honor the enduring relationship that exists between these peoples and their traditional territories. We pay our respects to their elders, past and present. As we carry out our work, we commit to learning about these lands' rich history, engaging respectfully with Indigenous communities, and contributing to healing and reconciliation efforts.
